Did you know?
Your kidneys probably do more than you realize.  Everyone is aware
that kidneys filter water from your body, but did you know that they
also regulate your blood pressure, activate Vitamin D in the liver,
send hormones to produce red blood cells in your bone marrow
and clean toxins from your blood?

Without functioning kidneys, people experience anemia,
hypertension, fatigue and other difficulties.  A medical history of
diabetes and hypertension increases your risk for chronic kidney
disease.  Patients who no longer have kidneys that are able to
function are placed on dialysis or can receive a transplanted kidney.
